“Mélodies de Ravel”, new CD out now with baritone Victor Sicard and Anna Cardona

   Anna Cardona is the winner of the accompanist prize at Guildhall Gold Medal 2013, winner of the MBF accompanist’s prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Competition 2010 and selected one of the duos (together with baritone Victor Sicard) of the Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform 2011. Anna and soprano Clara Meloni have won the Duo Prize at the International Toulouse Competition 2013. In 2012 she was the first prize winner of the 23rd International Competition Paper de Música de Capellades with baritone Victor Sicard and winner of the Worshipful Company of Musicians Recital Prize at the Wigmore Hall with soprano Sarah Power. 

   She was born in Barcelona and studied at the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Musica in Barcelona. In 2004 she moved to London to study a Masters Degree in solo piano with Peter Bithell and piano accompaniment with Eugene Asti and Pamela Lidiard at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she thereafter became a Fellow. Anna has participated in master classes given by Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, Malcolm Martineau, Sir Thomas Allen, Paul Lewis… and was selected to take part in the Young Songmakers Almanac Master Classes 2008 and 2011, Lieder Leeds+Festival 2009 and The Samling Foundation Masterclasses 2010. 

   Recent performances have included venues such as the Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Crush Room in ROH Covent Garden, St. James’ Piccadilly, LSO-St. Luke's, St. Mary Perivale, St. Paul’s Covent Garden, St. Brides Church in London; Helmsley Arts Centre, York; Auditori Nacional de Catalunya and Palau de la Música in Barcelona; Petit Palais de Paris and Radio France; venues in Belgium, Catalonia and France. 

      Anna has released a CD with soprano Sarah Power and one with baritone Victor Sicard.
